Action details

BioBazar, together with the Las na Zawsze Foundation, aims to protect 2.1 hectares of extraordinary forest in Janowice, in the Małopolska region.
In Janowice, majestic beech trees grow up to 30 meters tall! BioBazar is funding the protection of 1 hectare, while the remaining funds will be raised through a public campaign — and this is where we need your support. We’re launching at the end of June, with the grand finale during BioBazar’s 15th birthday celebration. Let’s make this our shared gift!
Join us in preserving this unique natural heritage!

As part of the Polish Preservation Project project, the Las na Zawsze Foundation protects mature, scattered woodlands across the country from logging, ensuring their beauty is preserved for future generations.

The forests protected through this initiative will remain open to the public and will not be fenced off.

Forest selection criteria

The Forever Forest Foundation seeks mature, biodiverse deciduous forests with the ability to self-regulate. Specifically, we look for:

  • Forests that are at least 50 years old

  • Forests not covered by official protection (often because they are too small)

  • Forests dominated by native tree species such as beech, oak, hornbeam, linden, and maple

  • Forests that serve as biodiversity hotspots — around 65% of all species find refuge in forests

  • Forests that are privately owned and available for purchase

Why should we protect forests?

  • A mature and biodiverse forest is a vital reservoir of water.
  • It protects the soil from degradation.
  • It shields us from noise and air pollution.
  • It offers grounding, support, and healing — forests are often used in therapy for their calming, restorative effects.
  • Because when it comes to managing natural processes, nothing does it better than nature itself.
