The Smaki farm operates in the vicinity of Biłgoraj in the Lublin region and obtained organic certification in 2010. Adam Furgała’s activity is focused on growing vegetables, mainly root vegetables, but the 8.5-hectare area also includes fields of wheat, spelt and rapeseed. This allows him to produce excellent flour and pasta, as well as cold-pressed oils. The farm also has a small orchard, so Adam Furgała’s stall offers a seasonal selection of many varieties of apples, plums, cherries and apricots. The dried Hungarian plums, reminiscent of Californian plums, are a huge hit, with the difference that they are ours, native. We should also mention the delicious Jaś beans and tomato juice obtained from Lima tomatoes, ripening in the middle of summer.
Adam makes masterful pickled cucumbers, adding a little rice to the brine to keep them firm for a long time, and in spring you can also get your hands on equally brilliant lightly salted cucumbers.
