BioBazar
in Norblin Factory
BioBazar in the Norblin Factory was established in 2010 is the first ecological market in Poland. From its beginnings, it functioned in the old walls of the former Norblin Factory at ul. Żelazna. Beginning in the 1820s and throughout the century, the Norblin Factory was one of the most prosperous metallurgical works in the Kingdom of Poland. The war brought an end to the magnificence of the enterprise. In the 1980s and early 2000s, the post-factory buildings were entered in the register of monuments. In 2017, revitalization work began on the facility, at which time the BioBazar, which had been operating here until then, moved its headquarters to Mokotów to return to its founding location in September 2021.
Today BioBazar is open as often as five days a week, and is made up of nearly 60 exhibitors. The stands are located in a gorgeous, renovated hall. The brick walls and industrial atmosphere of the interior make shopping here an unusual experience, and the products available here – most of them ECO-certified – are also outstanding.
BioBazar is not only a market, it is also a refined museum space and an undoubted tourist attraction.
A multilevel underground car park is in operation at the Norblin Factory, including Poland’s first automated bicycle parking space.
